Repairs & Maintenance

Here at Siragusa Guitars we provide repairs and maintenance services for your guitar. We provide a range of services from restringing your guitar to carrying out refrets and crack repairs.

A range of the typical services that we provide is listed below. The prices are an indication only – they may be adjusted up or down during assessment depending on whether more or less work is required.

If you have any questions regarding lead time for repairs, maintenance work or specific issues with your guitar, please feel free to contact us. We will ask that you make a time to bring in your instrument to us so that the scope of work and a quote can be determined.

• Checkup – $20. Includes visual assessment of condition and recommendations.
• Restring – $35 with standard strings, $45 with specialised strings (e.g., Elixir, Augustine, etc.). Includes fretboard and guitar body clean. Add $25 for guitars with locking tremolo systems (e.g., Floyd Rose, Kahler, etc.).
• Action setup and service – $80. Includes neck relief adjustment and action, restring, body and fretboard clean and oil, pickup height adjustment, electronic components and wiring check and clean, tightening all hardware and lubrication and intonation adjustment. Add $25 for guitars with locking tremolo systems (e.g., Floyd Rose, Kahler, etc.).
• Fret redress – $200. Includes fret level, crown and dress, restring and action setup.
• Partial refret – $220. Includes replacement of the first five frets, fret crown and dress, restring and action setup.
• Full refret – $440. Includes removal of frets, clean and level fretboard, install new frets (fret size of your choosing), fret crown and dress, restring and set action and fine-tune intonation. Add $20 for stainless steel frets. Note that the nut may need to be adjusted or replaced at additional cost.
• Nut/saddle replacement – $80. Includes removal of old nut or saddle, make new nut or saddle (bleached white bone), cut string slots, shape to fit, install new nut or saddle. Note that nut and saddle are charged separately. Action set up and restring are charged separately.
• Repairs to wiring and replacement of electrical component – $40. Includes removal of old component (e.g., potentiometer, input jack, switch, etc.) and wiring as needed, installation of new component and wiring, test and adjust as needed. Replacement component/s will be quoted and charged separately.
• Shielding installation – $65. Includes cleaning of electronic cavities, checking existing wiring and re-soldering poor soldered joints, and installation of copper shielding to electronic cavities (copper shielding included in price).
• Hardware replacement/installation – $30. Includes removal of old hardware (e.g., string tuners, strap buttons), installation of new hardware. Hardware parts are quoted and charged separately.
• Pickup installation (acoustic undersaddle system) – $100. Includes installation of undersaddle pickup system (e.g., LR Baggs Element Active System – VTC with endpin preamp and soundhole volume & tone controls). Pickup system quoted and charged separately. Restring and strings are charged separately. It is advised to make a time to bring in your guitar to access suitability of pickup system installation.
• Pickup installation (acoustic side mounted preamp) – $190. Includes installation of undersaddle pickup with side mounted preamp (e.g., LR Baggs Stagepro Element with side mounted preamp/eq & tuner with element undersaddle pickup and endpin). Pickup system quoted and charged separately. Restring and strings are charged separately. It is advised to make a time to bring in your guitar to access suitability of pickup system installation.
• Pickup installation (electric) – $50. Includes installation of one pickup. Add $10 per additional pickup. Restring, strings and pickup height adjustments are quoted and charged separately. It is advised to make a time to bring in your guitar to access suitability of pickup installation.
• Bridge re-glue (acoustic) – $160. Includes removal of bridge, clean/adjust and reglue. Restring and strings are charged separately.
• Bridge replacement (acoustic) – $240. Includes removal of existing bridge, make and install new bridge (ebony). Restring and strings are charged separately.
• Body crack/damage repairs (acoustic) – $100 minimum. All cracks and damage to be repaired needs to be assessed and quoted accordingly.
• Headstock repairs – $120 minimum. Headstock cracks and damage to be repaired needs to be assessed and quoted accordingly.
• Neck repairs – $200 minimum. Neck repairs, including neck resets, need to be assessed and quoted accordingly.

Additional – $30 minimum. For minor quick repairs. Each repair request will be assessed and quoted accordingly
